Stoney Bracelets
Since 2019, we have been crafting handmade gemstone jewelry for over 20,000 customers. What we write is based on daily conversations with customers, not on trends we've looked up somewhere.

The first thing women say when they hold a real gemstone necklace: it's heavier than expected. Not like something from a box at the checkout, but like something millions of years old. That weight is precisely what makes the difference. In our women's necklaces collection, we see daily that women choose based on feeling, not on trends.

Why a Gemstone Necklace Feels Different

Every gemstone is unique. The color variations, the inclusions, the way light falls on it. That's what makes a gemstone necklace personal, even without engraving or initials. It's yours because it looks exactly the way it does. No two are identical.

Furthermore, each stone has its own texture and temperature. Moonstone feels smooth and cool. Rhodonite has a silky warmth. Labradorite surprises with a flash of color that shifts as you move. You feel the difference from plastic or glass immediately upon first touch.

"I wanted something not everyone has. Something real. When I saw the pink rhodonite, I knew it immediately."

What we see most often

Women who hesitate almost always choose rhodonite or moonstone once they see them side-by-side. Those who know immediately what they want go for lapis lazuli or labradorite. Trust your first reaction. It's almost always right.

Which Necklace Suits Which Occasion?

A gemstone necklace is more versatile than you think. The occasion determines which stone and length work best. Below are four situations we hear daily from our customers.

Daily wear, with everything

You want something you can wear every day without thinking about it. With work clothes, casual outfits, or an evening out. Choice: moonstone or rhodonite, single on a delicate chain of 42 to 45 centimeters. Subtle enough for the office, beautiful enough for dinner.

Statement for a special occasion

You want the necklace to stand out. A party, an evening out, a moment you want to be remembered. Choice: lapis lazuli or labradorite in larger beads or as a striking pendant. Length 50 centimeters, so it falls on the chest.

Gift for a loved one

You want to give something personal. Not a standard gift card. Link the stone to the person: amethyst for calm, rhodonite for love, moonstone for intuition. The story behind the stone makes the gift personal, even without engraving.

Layering with bracelets or other necklaces

Layering works if you vary lengths and thicknesses. A delicate 42-centimeter necklace with a 50-centimeter beaded model adds depth. Keep the stones in the same color scheme — warm with warm, cool with cool — and it almost always works. Check out our tips for combining necklaces and bracelets.

Choosing Necklace Length

Necklace length is personal, but there are clear guidelines to help with the choice.

Length Falls on Suits
40 – 45 cm Collarbone / neck Daily, round or high neck
50 cm Just below collarbone V-neck, open collar, layering base
60 cm Chest Statement, layering, dresses
70 cm+ Waist Long wear, double wrap

In doubt? Choose 45 or 50 centimeters. These are the most versatile sizes for daily use. At Stoney Bracelets, most necklaces can be ordered in different lengths.

Care: How to Keep Your Necklace Beautiful

Gemstones are durable but react to water, perfume, and direct sunlight. A few basic rules that make a difference:

  • Put on the necklace last, after perfume and sunscreen
  • Store it separately in a small bag so it doesn't rub against other jewelry
  • Clean with a soft dry cloth, without water
  • Take it off before showering, exercising, and sleeping
  • Soft stones like moonstone and lapis lazuli require extra caution with impacts

Is the thread worn or a bead loose? Send it in via our repair service. We also repair necklaces.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which gemstone necklace is most popular with women?+
Rhodonite and moonstone are our most chosen gemstones for women's necklaces. Rhodonite appeals with its warm pink color and dark veins. Moonstone stands out with its subtle light shimmer. Both are versatile enough for everyday wear.
Which necklace length is the most versatile?+
45 to 50 centimeters is the most versatile size for most women. This length falls just above or on the collarbone and suits almost any neckline. If you want to layer, combine a 42-centimeter necklace with a 50-centimeter one.
Are your necklaces truly handmade?+
Yes. Each necklace is handmade in our studio in Rosmalen. No factory production, no standard sizes. We exclusively use real gemstones. You can see this in the quality and in the more than 1,800+ reviews with an average of 4.8 out of 5.
Can I combine a gemstone necklace with bracelets?+
Certainly. The most beautiful combinations are a necklace and bracelet in the same stone or the same color palette. A rhodonite necklace with a rhodonite bracelet always works. Or choose an amethyst necklace and combine it with a purple jasper bracelet. Keep the color temperature consistent: warm with warm, cool with cool.
Which gemstone necklace is most suitable as a gift?+
That depends on the recipient. Rhodonite stands for love and warmth, amethyst for peace and protection, moonstone for intuition and new beginnings. Link the choice to something that suits who she is. That makes the gift personal, even without an engraving.
How do I know if a gemstone is real?+
Real gemstones always have small variations in color, inclusions, and pattern. Are all beads perfectly identical? Then it's likely glass or plastic. Real stones feel cooler and heavier to the touch. At Stoney Bracelets, we exclusively use 100% real gemstones.
