The biggest trick with cheap bracelets is dyed stone or pressed powder posing as natural stone. The Mohs hardness and temperature sensation reveal genuine stone almost immediately. Below are the most commonly used stones in a premium men's bracelet and how to recognize them.

How the selection process behind a good brand works
At Stoney, every order passes three checks before it leaves the door. Not because it's easy — but because since 2019, we've learned that every overlooked detail later turns into a refund. The process:
- Quality grade purchasing. Stones are graded from AAA to C — we only accept AA and higher. Cheap brands buy by weight, not by grade.
- Manual bead selection. For each bracelet, approximately 22 beads are selected from a batch of at least eighty. Cracks, color deviations, and uneven banding go back into the pot.
- Elastic tension test. Each bracelet is stretched 25 times before shipping. Too loose? Restrung.
- Final visual check. Under daylight-LED — the finish of the cube, the symmetry of the beads, the direction of the banding.

The following signs almost exclusively occur with resellers, dropshippers, and mass-market labels that present themselves as brands. One sign is a warning. Two or more and you know enough.
- No mention of stone origin. Real? Genuine? Authentic? These are marketing words, not facts.
- Printed logo on the metal element. Premium brands engrave or stamp — printing is what cheap brands do because it's faster.
- Identical product photo on multiple webshops. Open Google Images and drag the photo in — if it appears on ten sites, it's a stock photo from a supplier.
- No clear size advice or wrist measurement. A brand that doesn't publish a size chart isn't considering the wearer's wrist.
- Reviews below 4.5 or no reviews visible. Premium brands show customer photos, not just stars. Hidden reviews usually mean hidden complaints.
